Spray Tan Aftercare

Making you feel beautiful and confident with spray tan. You'll fall in love with your tan & skin tone after our Spray Tan. Whether you want a light glow or a dark one I know how to give you the perfect shade. Sunless tanning is the safest way to achieve that beautiful golden brown tan.

Here are some tips on how to take care after your Spray Tan appointment -

  • No bra straight after your tan to avoid lines.
  • Ideally, put the air con on in your car afterward.
  • Don’t shower for at least 6 hours after the tan. The tan continues to develop for up to 24 hours later. So the darker you wish to be, the longer you leave it on for. Because I do extra coats , I suggest you leave it longer to ensure the tan is completely dry.
  • You will feel a bit sticky until that first shower.
  • Stay as dry as possible until that first shower, no washing hands.
  • No chemicals on your skin, they eat through the tan. Wear gloves if washing dishes.
  • After your first shower post tan you’re able to moisturise the tan. This will keep the tan “locked and sealed “into the pores and help it last longer . Moisturise  after every shower to make it last longer.
  • You will look dirty and grainy until that first shower. It’s completely normal. It’s because of the excess tan sitting on the pores of skin.
  • When you have your first shower after  the tan allow the water to wash over your body evenly everywhere. While in the shower, use  your hands to wipe all the excess tan off evenly , don’t miss any areas as you can leave water streak marks.
  • Drip marks are often the result of skin getting wet too quickly after a spray tan – rain, sweat and tears are the most common culprits. The Solution: When faced with drip marks, it's really important to act fast! Take a little body lotion and run a finger around the drip marks.
  • Keep your showers cooler, short and sweet.
  • Avoid hot showers as this will take more colour off.
  • Water, chemicals, perfumes also takes the tan off.
  • DAB , don’t rub when drying yourself after your showers.
  • The tan looks great when it’s first done but when it  mixes with your skin after you leave it can attach itself to dry areas making it look more prominent on the area (hands, knees, elbows and feet).
  • If your palms go funny from touching your body jif will assist taking the tan off.
  • Just be sure it doesn’t touch anywhere else because it eats straight through the tan.
  • You can lighten hands by washing your hands extra, using a hot towel with water and wiping over the areas. Just be careful that you don’t take too much colour off.
  • Other ways to remove spray tan from your hands include lemon juice, baking soda, vinegar, toothpaste or soaking your hands. Whatever method you choose , once again, take caution while doing this.
  • How you sleep at night and body parts touching each other can make some parts of the body darker than others. This is common under the arms, between legs ( areas where there is friction)
  • If you need to wash your hair and you want to be extra cautious after being tanned you can wash it in a basin or step away from the shower  head when your lathering your scalp to avoid the shampoo/conditioner from touching your body tan and taking more off.
